Netball Results - September 2017

Wednesday 4 October 2017

U9 Blue    Lost 6-10     Player of the Match: Connie Fitton

A game of 2 halves. We were leading at half time by 5 goals to 2 and were easily the better team. However the 3rd quarter saw a much improved Holmwood House and they managed to score 6 goals. We could not match them in that quarter, however our team for the last quarter were strong and we had our chances, but we could not convert them today. Holmwood House deserved to win the match and hopefully our girls will learn from the result. We need tighter marking and more fighting spirit.

U9 Red   Lost 2-12    Player of the Match: Phoebe John

The girls are slowly getting to grips with the game of netball and the progress is noticeable each week.  Culford move the ball down the court with success at times, reaching their shooting circle to have lots of attempts at goal unfortunately they are not consistent with their shooting as yet.

U9 Girls came 3rd in High 5 tournament - Match report to follow

U9 Blue v Barnardiston

Won: 5-2

MVP: Henrietta Wilson

This was a great first match. All of the girls played extremely well. They passed the ball beautifully down the court and were the stronger team from the start. However, they were losing after the first quarter and this was due to some nerves when shooting. Culford had 8 attempts on goal, but scored 1 and Barnardiston had 4 attempts on goal and scored 2. After the first quarter Culford proved too strong for the opposition through our adaptability; with each change of position we became stronger, leaving the best until last. We now need to work on defending skills and shooting.

U9 Red v Moreton Hall

Lost 1-2

MVP: Phoebe John

This was a good first game for some girls that have never played before.  There were lots of opportunities to shoot, however, this is definitely an area to work on.
