Medical Centre Manager

What is your role at Culford?

I am the Medical Centre Manager.

What did you do before you came to Culford?

Before I came to Culford I spent four years living in Malawi with my family where I worked on a part-time voluntary basis as a nurse and midwife in hospitals (Paediatric and Palliative Care) an orphanage, a primary school (teaching first aid) and in the community.

I have now been nursing for 20 years and worked in various specialisms in the UK including Rheumatology, Day Surgery, Palliative Care, Community Midwifery and SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit). I have been at Culford Medical Centre for 6 years and throughly enjoy working with a great nursing team and our supportive school doctors.

What is your favourite piece of music?

My music favourites are Pachelbel's CanonOne by U2 and Sigh No More by Mumford and Sons.

What is the best thing about working at Culford?

I think the people here are the best thing about working at Culford. Developing and delivering our school nursing service for our pupils and staff as well as the variety of work each day has, for me, made Culford a most rewarding place to work.

What are your interests outside School?

My personal interests are my family, my faith and I also love travelling.
