At lunchtime, Sixth Formers can eat either in Culford’s Ashby Dining Hall or at Paddy and Scott’s café, which is reserved exclusively for Sixth Form use at lunchtime.
Breakfast and dinner is served at Ashby Dining Hall and selected Sixth Form prefects have the responsibility to monitor younger pupils at lunchtime in Ashby.
Culford places great importance on a healthy and varied diet and at lunchtime, Sixth Formers have the option to choose a salad, soup or panini from Paddy and Scott’s or enjoy a hot meal, including a vegetarian option, or jacket potato with salad bar at Ashby Dining Hall. Fresh fruit and water is also available at both venues.
If a pupils weight changes quickly leading to Housemasters or Housemistresses having concerns it will be followed up with communication with parents, and with advice from the medical centre if appropriate, in the first instance.
Sixth Formers are able to have lunch, drinks and snacks at Culford’s own Paddy and Scott’s café, located upstairs in the sports and tennis centre, and away from the main dining hall. They can have a selection of paninis, soups, salad or baked goods. Having this facility mimics University eating or a working environment, better preparing Sixth Formers for the next stage in their lives. They are also able to use Paddy and Scott’s for Sixth Form Parties.

The school's catering is contracted out to Edwards and Blake. The Culford Catering Managers are Trevor Barnes and Debbie Moran. They lead a dedicated catering team which includes qualified chefs. Edwards and Blake deliver great quality, nutritious and healthy food which is locally sourced whenever possible.

If a student has specific dietary requirements or allergies we will do all we can to cater for them. In the first instance, please contact the student’s Housemaster or Housemistress who will then liaise with the medical centre and Catering Managers.
