The season begins with a residential pre-season training camp including at least one competitive match. A strong tradition of touring is well established and the 1st XV embark on tours each year.

From January, the focus is on 7s play where competitive fixtures are provided. Strength and conditioning is combined with skill development to ensure a high quality year-round rugby programme.
