Day Pupils at Culford Prep School

Day pupils at Culford Prep School

All pupils are each assigned to an Activity House with a designated Form Teacher. The Prep School runs several inter-house competitions each year and this encourages the children to work in teams to win House and Honour points. Having a Form Teacher means someone is always available to provide support and advice on work, personal, friendship, health or other matters.

The school day begins at 8.25am and lessons end at 3.30pm with a huge variety of activities on offer until 5.20pm. Day pupils may also stay for boarders’ tea which takes place after activities each weekday and are also welcome to take part in the weekend activities subject to space. These include trips to the beach, museums and theme parks.

Extended Day Options and Occasional Boarding

Boarding pupils at Culford Prep

Day pupils benefit from Culford’s Extended Day Programme, which allows children to come to School as early as 7.30am and stay as late as 8pm. Culford’s Extended Day programme has been designed to help busy working parents by giving them extra flexibility. Click here to find out more about the Extended Day options.

There is also the option for day pupils to board occasionally throughout the year. Part boarding is also available, giving pupils the chance to board for two or three consecutive nights per week. For more information about  prices please click here.

The children live in Cadogan House, along with their Assistant Housemaster, resident staff and Matron. The Housemaster lives next door. Cadogan is a mixed boarding house close to the school and overlooking our extensive playing fields and the adventure playground. All the outstanding facilities at Culford Sports and Tennis Centre are, of course, available to boarders, too. To find out more about life as a Prep School boarder, click here.

Culford Express and School Buses

Culford runs two shuttle services for pupils living in and around Cambridge and Norwich, leaving from Park & Ride stations and proceeding directly to Culford in a journey of around 40 minutes. The shuttle departs at 7.45am each morning. Read more about the shuttle service here.

For day pupils living nearer to Culford there is a series of routes with stops at towns and villages on route. Find the full list of bus routes here.
