Why Go Boarding?

These days families choose boarding for lots of different reasons. For parents who move regularly with their jobs, boarding offers their children the stability with which they thrive. For others, boarding is a great way to support busy working families in the modern world and, as children approach Sixth Form, a number choose to board, in preparation for life at university.

Boarding is equally good at supporting busy children as it is their parents; fitting in academic work, sport, activities, events, CCF and D of E, music, drama and art along with socialising with friends is so much easier when everything and everyone is in one place.

Children gain greater independence and grow in confidence; they learn to live with others and support each other in a close community; and they have a great deal of fun too. The boarding Houses offer a home from home atmosphere and there is always someone on hand to help with prep (homework) or to give support and advice. Culford offers full boarding, part boarding and occasional boarding options.
